Happy Monday morning! Last week I decided to utilize some of the “junk” pages in my Dylusions Art Journal and created a couple of faces. The left page ended up with a very (very) loosely drawn face, using a black Marks All pencil and a wet brush. Followed by black fluid ink in a fine liner bottle. Like I said, face was loosely scribbled (Dina Wakley would be proud of me letting loose )
The right side of this spread has lots of background layers. Started out as a mop up page for left over paint, white gesso, more paint & stencils and then Dina Wakley’s stencil reduction technique (I think that’s what it’s called). I LOVE the background and decided to add a face focusing on the layers to give the skin some depth, Micki Wilde style. I tell you, noses……sometime I can do them and sometimes not so much!
I had some old rub-ons from Maya Road and because I told myself NOT to worry about perfection and to just “do”, which I did…..I thought the “Celebrate: you” sentiment worked perfectly!
And it felt pretty good to finish off two more pages in my journal. That’s it for me today, I’m painting a bunch of thrift store frames today and am going to attempt to put some of my unused art supplies on eBay. At the very least take pictures of them. Doing all this and trying to stay cool. Went right from cold, drizzly weather to hot and humid. And you guys know how much I love humidity (not).
Stay cool! Until next time,
