Heart Community

2015 February 23

Hey everyone!  I thought I'd start the week out by sharing my little Heart Community People Book.

This was the result of following Jill Berry's wonderful instructions from week 7 of LIfe Book 2015.  As I am somewhat challenged when it comes to fancy folds, it took me a couple of attempts to get the folds right and the porportions of the people somewhat right.  But once I had the people book cut, then it was on to the fun of decorating their clothes.  For that, I grabbed my gelli print scraps.  I also used gelli print paper scraps for their hair.  Painting their tiny faces, was rather intimidating, especially since I really wanted each face to be different.  Inside the "doors", is some personal journaling about each of the women that are part of my heart community.

Remember you can click on the pictures to view a larger version.

As you may have noted, a couple of the gals are wearing "scarfs" – washi tape to help stabilize or hide wrong cuts on their neck.

Once again, I am so glad I finished up this project even though at some stages (faces)  I wanted to just leave the faces blank.  I'm thinking a larger version of this Heart Community would be an awesome future project, what do you think?

Hope you are staying warm this Monday morning!  It's cold – but no wind, yay!

Until next time, xoxoxo

I like blue dress's hair, purple dress's tights and shoes, the red head's face and the dress on the blonde. This is very interesting.  I am wondering how they stand upright and what their actual size is, since you want to do a larger version.  How will you display them? Your creativity always inspires me.  I hope that you're off to a wonderful week and that we're both seeing some genuine spring one day soon.
