Saved it–I think….
My work-in-progress, which I thought was going to be a total re-do, was saved. I was really happy with the basket and the eggs which were paper pieced and glued to the canvas. Added some paint and once all dry, added shadows using Faber-Castell Big Brush Markers followed by some doodling with a black pen. And like I shared in my last post, kinda went wild with the Faber-Castell Gelatos.
Love the bright background, just didn’t fit with the Easter basket. But I didn’t freak out, instead I painted the background white. I love how those bright bold colors still come through the white paint. Added stamps, stencils and used Wendy Vecchi’s Archival Inks with the stencils instead of paint. LOVE it. Soooo wanna see? I snapped this while waiting for the leaves to dry. Not exactly the kind of “grass” I had envisioned, but it’s all good.
Love using Wendy Vecchi’s new stencils with her Archival Inks. I added a paper pieced basket handle too, just thought it made it look more like an Easter basket.
After the leaves dried, I added shading and doodling which helped define them (thankfully).
Then I added some stickers to spell out Easter Blessings. The chipboard stickers were given several coats of Glimmer Glazes.
Final step was giving the whole canvas a good coat of glossy Glue N Seal and T-A-D-A, a saved canvas.
Unfortunately, it will not be displayed until next year, but it will definitely help decorate the house for Easter. What do you think? Is it a “save”?
That’s it for me today. Glad it is Friday. Been another rollercoaster ride at work. Definitely need more art therapy!!!!
Until next time, xoxoxo
