SOC–Embossing

2013 November 13

Hi folks,  well I did find some time to do a little creating!  It took a lot longer because I had to find stuff and now it’s not right there within reach.  But create I did.

It a new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and I am your hostess!  The challenge is EMBOSSING!  Wet or dry, it doesn’t matter as long as we can see that you’ve used this technique on your project!

I’ve been wanting to use the new Tim Holtz Texture Fades that I got in my eclectic Paperie DT package.  I have to admit that I do have an issue with embossing and embossing folders.  I follow the “sandwich” instructions, yet my card stock always gets all wavy if that makes any sense.

Anyhow, here is my first card, which features dry embossing using Texture Fades and Core’dinations Jenni Bowlin embossed paper:

EmbossedCard5 The metal “thank you” charm is like a million years old so I added it. (Gotta use the stuff up, right?)

My next card was actually the first card I made and in typical “Micki” fashion, I ruined it!  But I’m sharing anyway:

For this card I did the dry embossing using the Texture Fades and wet embossing.  NOTE to self – learn patience and leave stuff alone until dry!  Smile

Not the best of projects and as I was working on them in the new room, I remembered that we still have to set up the lights, change light bulbs in the overhead light, etc..   Lots of light in there during the day, but at night it’s another story.  Anyway,  head over to the Sisterhood of Crafters to check out what inspiration the sister’s created and to welcome our newest step sisters!  And then play along!

Until next time……..
