2013 October 2

Hey everyone, I’m still alive!  I’ve been a painting fool the last week and the room is slowly getting there.  I can’t wait to share pictures.  Because of the plaster walls and 115 year old wood trim which was in horrible shape, it’s taken several coats of paint.  Most of the walls have at least 3 coats and the trim 4 coats of paint.  I’ve decided that the next wall project will receive a layer of gesso – forget primer!  Each wall has a different color!  It looks AWESOME!  Anyway, tonight after work (big sigh, then there’s all that) I’ll be finishing up the trim, putting it back up and then the painting is done.  Yay!!!!  And I’ll share some pictures.

I do have a quick project.  And yes, it does involve paint, the fun kind of paint – Distress Paint:

A really quick and simple card.  I had the Distress Paint out and had excess left on the craft sheet, so I just picked up a stamp, loaded it with the Distress Paint and stamped onto mixed media card stock.

Notice how by spritzing the stamp with water, your 3rd stamped impression is actually a bit stronger than the 2nd.  I love that look, don’t you?

I have lots of these “stamp offs” laying around because I hate to waste paint.  So it’s just a matter of creating a card or tag, etc…

Sorry about the crappy lighting.  That’s another thing that will be solved in the new art room!  Oh I’m so excited.  Although I won’t be able to move into it until after my craft show at the end of the month but never the less, I’m excited.

Alright guys,  I know this was a quick card and quick post but with the software conversion at work and having to do my supervisor’s job as I am the only person in Data Entry for a week and a half, it’s been long days and my brain is fried by the time I get a chance to sit down.  I hope to pre-post several things this weekend because if I thought this week was bad, next week is going to be double the fun.

Thanks for stopping by…… until next time!

So looking forward to the room photos!  Not to mention new art space — will there be room for my  sorry backside to come and take lessons???  Wishing you a good rest of the work week. Like that you used what most would consider waste on this card.  I think I'm slightly disappointed because your artwork is usually so vibrant.  This card is soothing and it whispers gently of Micki does mellow.  Don't forget to rest some as you work hard to cover the supervisor's job, too.
