Peekaboo Love

2012 September 5

It’s been such a long time since I’ve played with my Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.  Not for lack of wanting to.  I’ve been meaning to play with Peek-a-Boo Sophie because she reminds me of my youngest granddaughter Abby who loves to play peek-a-boo.  With the stamp in mind,  I challenged myself to use bold bright cardstock and papers, kind of a last hurrah to summer.  Yes, the humidity and heat is making another stand – hopefully the last one!!!  Anyway, I knew I wanted to use bright yellows and some of the papers from Cosmo Crickets DeLovely mini deck 6×6 pack.   Not even going to tell you how many times I wanted to redo the card with CAS and white background.  But in the end I left it alone.

I also followed a sketch from The Sweet Shop:

I wanted to give the image a bit of depth so I cut around the sunflower headpiece and popped it up with some foam.

I truly don’t know why it is so hard for me to use bright cardstock and papers.  Well, papers not so much because I tend to tone it down by using small amounts paired with white or black cardstock.  Or maybe it’s because I have an aversion to summer (heat, humidity) and it carries over to the summer like colors, what do you think?  Or maybe it’s cuz I’m just plain weird Smile which is what makes me ME!

Oh and several challenges besides the sketch challenge that this card will fit:

That’s it for me tonight.  Went through my craft room and have lots and lots of supplies I’m getting rid of.  Anyone interested in a Cricut, how about some SU stamps, Sizzix and Spellbinder dies.  It’s pretty sad when I have duplicates of several dies…… anyway, I hope you guys had a wonderful Labor Day.

Until next time….

I love this sweet card! Great colors for the end of summer. Don't feel bad about finding duplicates of supplies. I do it all the time. My sister's grandaughter benefits from my over buying. She makes the cutest cards out fo the supplies I give her. Did you decide how you are going to get rid of them? Can always use more stamps and dies.

I LOVE this!  Your brights are beautiful!!  Hope you're having a good short work week.  We just got back to the motel room from riding our bikes to watch the sun set over Lake Michigan {sigh}.
