Happy Art using this and that

2012 July 6

Happy Friday everyone.  This is going to be a fast post.  Been up since 3:30AM with a headache which means I am having a heck of a time keeping my eyes open now.

Remember last week’s eP Blog Hop, where I got a 2 for 1 background?

Well, with my crafty mojo (it’s the PJs, I always seem to craft better in my PJs!) in full gear on 4th of July, I grabbed  a bunch of old rub-ons, left over bits & pieces from previous projects and finished that page:

The rub-ons are so old that I couldn’t get a it to come off the plastic fully.  That gave the “Happy” a cool grungy look.  However on the light blue swirls, it doesn’t look all that great.

I also used the heart doily from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Decorative Doilies SVG set.  I had die cut a couple extra hearts from old papers.  The color of the paper was a hot pink which probably would have worked but I decided to use my Dylusions Ink Sprays on it instead.  Add to that some old sentiment sticker from 7 Gypsies which I lightly sanded then sponged.  Matter of fact I used so much stuff that I’m not even going to try to list everything.  It would take me hours, lol and the whole point of this page was to use what ever my eye fell upon.

You know when I started, I really didn’t know what I was going to do.  I just knew I was happy and inky and well, productive.  So that’s how I came up with my title of “Happy Art”.

IMG_0020-2 Notice I tried to hand journal….so not happening.  I didn’t completely cover my handwriting up with paint but that’s ok.  The “R” is a felt sticker on grungeboard,  the chipboard “T” was lightly sanded and slapped onto a grungeboard heart which was a left over.   The grungeboard gave some dimension yet not too much since I still want to close my book.

I definitely had fun and even started on another page – this morning at 4AM after watching Donna Downey.  So hated getting ready for work….

This page is perfect for the following challenges:

That’s it for me tonight.  Just heard that the forecast for tomorrow’s high temperature is 106°, ugh!!!   I hope you guys have a wonderful, cool weekend!  Until next time…..

PS:  Since I’m not posting a supply list, if you have any questions, just ask either via email or comment.  Smile

Hey, I got this new I- pad and I may be pounding it and double and triple commenting, ok?  I am working on getting it figured out, but I can relate to your comments about not being in your 20 s anymore.  Old dog does not learn new tricks well, even if this one doesn't make my BODY ache ;).  Great page for your journal.  Live every moment and make happy art!
