SOC Round n Round
as in Circles! That’s the challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and you all know how I always seem to be running round and round in circles trying to finish something on my to do list. Seems only fitting that I create not one but two cards.
For my first card, I incorporated circles by creating a background panel using a background stamp called “Bubbles”.
I randomly stamped the bubbles or circles with red ink onto white card stock, then used Spiced Marmelade Distress Ink and blended. I normally would not have used the red & orange together but because of the paper I gave it a try. Anyway, then I stamped the “Hero” stamp with Versamark and embossed it with black embossing powder.
It did take me several tries with the embossing….. you know, since I am embossing powder handicapped
.
For this card, I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday challenge week #211:
My next card was created using one of the digital stamps from Wonder Strange who is our sponsor for this challenge. The moment I saw this stamp “Devilish Girl”, I knew I was going to use it. Can you guess why?
The only circles you will find in this card are the circles and dots (which technically are circles, right?) on the paper (Fancy Pants).
Love the thick outlines of the digital stamp, makes it very easy to color. Easy and fast! I did use some Old Paper Distress Ink to blend in the stark white of the card stock. And yes, I followed another sketch. I used Card Positioning Systems sketch #269:
I know, I know….. must be snowing in June…. somewhere!
I really didn’t know what type of sentiment to add to this little girl when my eye fell upon one of the “Just Say It” stamps from Art Impressions, which I added to the inside of the card:
I know several of my girlfriends will appreciate my devilish sense of humor! Be sure to head over to the Sisterhood of Crafters to check out what the rest of the sisters created and to get all the details on this fabulous challenge.
That’s it for me, hope you play along with us! Can’t wait to see what you create!
