Envelopes, Liners and Wishes from Oz
This is going to be a quick post, getting a little late. I do have a card to share but first I wanted to show the envelope and liner I created with Lindsay’s Envelopes & Liners SVG and to let you know (shoot me about posting so late….) that in honor of myGrafico’s 3rd anniversary, everything is 50% off today only. SOOOOOOO……
I discovered that acrylic watercolor paper is A W E S O M E as both a card base – because it’s not a bright white, yet not as dark as some off white card stock AND it’s fabulous as an envelope. Obviously, it’s hard to see what makes this so awesome and fabulous but trust me…. it is. And the Cricut cut through it like butter. The liner was cut from left over (as in old, old, old) paper.
I love the clean white of the watercolor paper and love the pop of color from the liner. And it’s easy…. Lindsay’s cutting files always include printable versions (print & hand cut) and instructions. Of course, you can always find so much instructions/tips and tricks over at Lindsay’s blog
.
Now to my card….. I really hope the recipient of this card is too busy with CHA to read this blog post…… if she does read this…she must STOP!
I did not use Copics, this time I used watercolors and I’m actually really pleased at how this card turned out:
Although I have to confess that I had such a hard time deciding which papers to use that in the end I decided to use the same watercolor paper that I stamped the image onto. The stamp is from Crafty Secrets Wizard of Oz set.
To add some depth, I layered each layer with 3D foam squares:
I really hope she will like this card…..
And there are several challenges this card will qualify for:
- Heart Song Inspirations #32: Red and White and/or Ribbon
- The Crafter’s Café : Clean and Simple
- Creative Belli Blog #136: Frames
- Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes
- The Stamping Boutique #24: Die Cuts
- 4 Crafty Chicks #74: Pins
- Southern Girls Challenge #36: White on White
That’s it for me tonight. You guys have a wonderful weekend, I’ll be wishing I was in CA at CHA, but it is probably a good thing I’m not. Gotta use up what I have before I start dreaming about getting new stuff, right? Right !
Until next time…..hugs

Lined envelopes are SO classy and yours is stunning! What a pretty card! Love how you popped it up on all that white. Acrylic Watercolor Paper, huh? Will have to see what the difference is between that and regular old watercolor paper. Sorry you're not in CA, but I sure hope you have a great weekend anyhow.
