Armband Jewelry……

2011 October 5

Hi folks,

I am in full fledged “getting ready for the craft fair” mode, hence my lack of blogging.  BUT I wanted to pop in to share some armband jewelry and earrings…..but first I have to share a couple of awards I won for this card:

Tera-Bidlespacher-Plate-155-Happy-Halloween

colour-addict-top3

TS&TF Top 3 210

I really need to create one location for all the challenge badges on the blog…. one of these days I’ll get around to that I hope.

Now on to the armband jewelry I was talking about earlier……..

LOL, no I don’t wear armband jewelry other than maybe  bracelets.  However, ©Teresa Sherman’s  Steampunk Fairy  just screamed at me to add some metal.  The armband was made out of a Tim Holtz jump ring by ‘unbending’ them and re-coiling .  The same goes for the earring, except that I added a Tim Holtz mini fastener.  The metal disks are regular silver hardware store washers colored with a gold Sharpie Poster Paint pen.

She is colored with Copics, outlined with Pitt Artist Pen and the background was done with Distress Ink and blending tool.

Steampunk Fairy is available from Sweet Pea Stamps as a single stamp or as part of Plate #168.   The sentiment is also from Sweet Pea Stamps Plate #98 which I just cut apart and edged with Distress Ink.

Super fun to color.  Teresa really made it easy to know where to color ‘shadows’…..and I definitely like how she turned out.  Teresa or ‘Teri’ is an awesome crafter besides a great artist.  I’ve known Teri now for (gasp) three or four years.  Wow times does fly…. anyway….. here’s another look at my Metal Steampunk Fairy.

Couple of challenges I’m entering this card in:

I’m sure there are more challenges out there but I am extremely tired…. so I think I’ll call it a night.

Thanks for stopping by….until next time!

This is an amazing piece of artwork Micki. I'm really impressed with the jewelry embellishments, they're so creative. Wonderful layout on the card too and your colouring is fabulous, there's so much depth in it.

Yeah for the awards!  Neat-O Steampunk Fairy.  The jewelry is snazzy!  You are wonderful at coloring (stuff looks REAL) and making a card just about jump out of the computer at your gawkers.  Best of luck with the Craft Fair and I hope all that you're carrying away from it are buckets of money!

WOW. Love the metal on Teri's fairy. The colouring is fab as well of course but it's that extra touch that brings this to life. Thank you for sharing this at Delicious Doodles' "tales of the unexpected" challenge
