Batty Halloween and a Thank You
I wish I could say that I had a busy weekend creating … but nope, it was a weekend spend getting up at the crack of dawn to do our garage sale. And the crafting mojo has not quite returned, I suspect it’s because I’ve still got too much other stuff in my head. Thankfully, I do have a couple of projects that I finished a couple of weeks ago and have yet to share here.
Halloween is one of my favorite crafting holidays but the only problem with this fun crafting holiday is that I have loads of papers from previous years left over. But it’s not the paper that makes the card, it’s the big eyed cutie.
I used Copics to color the image. The black side panel was embossed and for some shimmer, I used a Versamark pad and lightly rubbed it over the raised areas, then adding some Perfect Pearls with a brush.
You can’t see it but I added some Viva Décor Gloss Gel to the bell on her hat and used it to add eyes to the punched bats.
After die cutting the image, I glued the pom-pom ribbon to the back of the image panel and adhered it to the card using dimensional foam.
I added a couple of punched bats and this card really came together quickly for me, which is so not the norm for me.
Couple of challenges I’m submitting this card to:
- Make it Colourful #35: Black and Orange (I think I’m covered there )
- The Squirrel & The Fox #1: Anything Goes (brand new challenge blog – go check ‘em out!)
- Card Makin Mamas: Punches (my little bats)
- Really Reasonable Ribbon #32: Autumn Theme (orange pom-pom ribbon)
Here’s one more look at the finished card:
Before I sign off, I just want to say “THANK YOU” to everyone who lifted me up with their comments…. thank you so much. It brought rays of sunshine into a pretty dreary week!
Until next time….
